Individual counseling services for cancer patients
A cancer diagnosis can bring fear, grief, anger, and uncertainty, often all at once. Individual counseling offers a private, supportive space to slow down and tend to the emotional impact of what you’re experiencing. Therapy gives you room to speak openly about what feels hardest — whether that’s treatment, anxiety about scans or the future, changes in your body or identity, or the strain cancer places on daily life — without needing to stay strong or protect others.
Counseling can also help you develop practical ways to cope with stress and uncertainty while making space for deeper reflection and meaning. At every stage of the cancer journey, therapy can offer support and perspective, helping you navigate what lies ahead.
A Message to Cancer Patients
If you’re living with a cancer diagnosis, you may be carrying more than most people can see. You might be trying to keep up with appointments, treatments, and decisions while holding the emotional impact of a life-altering diagnosis. Many patients feel pressure to stay strong, positive, or reassuring for others, even when fear, grief, or uncertainty feel overwhelming.
Through my 11 years of experience working with individuals diagnosed with cancer, I’ve witnessed how isolating this journey can be. I also understand that, at times, it may feel preferable to pursue counseling support outside of your treatment team, or that the emotional support available within a clinic does not fully meet your needs. This understanding is one of the reasons I am deeply committed to offering therapy that centers your experience — not just your diagnosis.
Therapy can be a place where you don’t have to explain, minimize, or perform. It’s a space to slow down, be honest about what you’re feeling, and receive support as you navigate this chapter of your life. You don’t have to go through this alone, and help is available when you’re ready.
My experience with cancer patients
I’ve had the privilege of working with people affected by cancer for over 11 years, supporting individuals across a wide range of diagnoses and stages of illness. From initial diagnosis, to treatment planning, to experiencing treatment, to survivorship, I appreciate how each stage has varying challenges. My clinical background includes extensive experience working with both hematological malignancies and solid tumor cancers, as well as specialized experience supporting patients undergoing allogeneic and autologous stem cell transplants and CAR-T cell therapy.
Through this work, I’ve witnessed how cancer impacts far more than physical health. Many individuals entering therapy are not only coping with treatment and medical decisions, but also navigating identity shifts, relationship changes, and fears surrounding uncertainty or recurrence. These reactions are not signs of weakness, but deeply human responses to extraordinary stress and life disruption.
My goal is to offer therapy that centers your experience — not just your diagnosis. I strive to provide a space that feels grounded, compassionate, and supportive as you navigate this chapter of your life.
If you’re considering therapy and something on this page resonates with you, you’re welcome to reach out. Starting counseling during the cancer journey can feel uncertain, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. I’m here to provide a supportive space when you feel ready.
